Knowing strength training was the missing piece for his health and running performance but had no idea where to start.
Had never used proper gym kit or followed a structured strength programme.
Wanted to lose weight, improve his fitness and future-proof his body as he got older.
Was concerned about committing to something new and fitting it into a busy life.
Had experienced back problems in the past, including surgery for a herniated disc.
Over the past 10 months, Nick has completely committed to the process and is now:
Stronger, leaner and more athletic than he has been in years.
Confident using free weights and training independently in the gym.
Performing multiple chin-ups and over 30 consecutive press-ups.
Deadlifting over 130kg and squatting 90kg.
Running stronger, more efficiently and with fewer injuries.
Free from the back pain that had affected him for years.
More confident in his appearance, health and physical capabilities.
As part of the training process, Nick has:
Gone from never having used a squat rack to confidently performing compound lifts.
Built strength that directly carries over into his running and everyday life.
Learned how to analyse his own lifting technique through video feedback.
Improved his nutrition, recovery and overall health habits.
Developed the confidence that comes from knowing exactly what to do every time he walks into a gym.
Most importantly, Nick now feels equipped to stay strong, active and independent for decades to come—allowing him to keep running, travelling, exploring and enjoying life on his own terms as he moves through his 50s and beyond.
